The Kora is the famous 21-stringed West African Harp Lute.

We sell and repair all types of Kora, and convert traditional leather rings to guitar machine heads, making them much easier to tune.

We also run workshops, offer one-to-one kora tuition for all abilities  and have developed a Tuition CD. It is available separately but also comes free when you  buy one of our koras.

In addition we have designed and produced a Kora Gig Bag and are currently developing a lightweight hard case. We offer help and advice in all things kora-related and hope  you find the site useful.

Welcome to the Kora Workshop

Keep an eye on our News page - we’re building a house in Kafountine, in the Cassamance, Senegal. Kora workshops and kora-making holidays are being planned there for early 2010. It’s only a 6 hour flight to Banjul in The Gambia, and a car journey south into Senegal.

Our first independent workshop was held in Oxford at the

Pitt Rivers Museum on Saturday 13th June.

It was a great success and you can

see some photos and quotes from those who joined us.

next one - planned for September
